An Interview with Geoff Smyth from FrankaNora Ltd
Geoff Smyth is one of our newest residents, a data analyst for FrankaNora Ltd. He has taken a bit of time to tell us about his career so far and his move to Blick Studios.
Tell us a bit about your business.
I am a technical data analyst. I use my technical knowledge to sift through large amounts data to sort and cleanse it for further analysis down the line. This enables businesses to streamline and become more efficient by looking for trends or bottle-necks in patterns of data. They can also make monetary savings by detecting duplication or “bad” data like out-of-date addresses, invalid area codes in phone numbers or wrong mobile phone number formats.
How long have you been working within the creative industries, and do you have any highlights you’d like to share with us?
I’ve been working with the creative industries for over 20 years. I was able to help Charles Hurst Motors organise their used car stock better by building in Business Intelligence using the latest tools and visual techniques.
Why did you decide to move your work to Blick Studios?
I decided to move my work from home to Blick because I like how it has a really good mix of industries, business and people to share my workspace with and connect to.
Anything exciting you’re working on at the moment?
I am helping Primark roll-out a new HR system globally, starting with the French stores then moving too Holland in a couple of months.
