5 Creative Ways To Have Your Say
This year Belfast Design Week is hosting a Refugees Welcome event, and are asking creatives to design a t-shirt to show support to refugees in Northern Ireland. We wanted to have a look at some popular designs from rallies and protests in the past to inspire you and get those creative juices flowing.
Some of the t-shirt designs may be printed up and worn by Refugees Welcome NI to promote visibility and inclusion. Selected designs will also be exhibited at Blick Shared Studios following Belfast Design Week and will be share on Blick and Refugees Welcome NI website and social media.
1. The Pun
Paraphrasing a quote or song lyric is a popular way to get your message stuck in people’s heads.

3. Images
If you can’t think of a good pun, get creative. It’s not just about the words.

4. Wordplay
Quick and punchy. These are great for t-shirts, people will probably only get a quick glance at a message on a t-shirt, so you want it to stand out.

5. Just really good points that people should hear
These ones are pretty simple, but sometimes the simple and most obvious ones become the most poignant, because they get to the serious point without playing games.
