Creative Roundup: Trademarket, Qest Awards for Makers, Belfast XR Festival & Creative Workshops
Here are some of our favourite things for creatives, upcoming funding and support, events, opportunities and inspiration this week.
INSPIRATION
TRADEMARKET – I spend a lot of time walking between our studios in South Belfast and the Cathedral Quarter, it’s only a 30 minutes walk, so it makes a lot more sense than driving. Unfortunately though much of the route particularly around Bradbury Place, Shaftesbury Square and Dublin Road is rundown and quite depressing. So it’s very exciting to see Trademarket A new market where businesses are trading from repurposed shipping containers has opened on the site of the former Movie House on Dublin Road. I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet, but it looks great and I am delighted to see some positive things happening in this part of the city. There is a mix of food offerings and local and independent retailers so it’s definitely worth supporting, particularly in the current challenging financial times.
